Finally Medical Journal Admits the Truth About Bird Flu

Abstract: gnc health food
Tag:

The British Medical Journal recently featured an editorial on
the bird flu in which they state the following:

The lack of sustained human-to-human transmission suggests that
this AH5N1 avian virus does not currently have the capacity to
cause a human pandemic.

Theoretical Speculation

While they do go on to say the virus could mutate with a
influenza A virus and has the potential to acquire the means for
rapid human to human transmission, it does not have this ability
now; the preparation and warnings are entirely about a
theoretical speculation.

No Lawsuits or Compensation Allowed

Meanwhile, the Bush administration’s proposed $7.1-billion
pandemic flu plan seeks broad restrictions on lawsuits against
producers of vaccines and antiviral drugs, and makes no mention
of how those injured or killed by adverse reactions could be
compensated.

Yesterday’s Wired magazine does an excellent review of detailing
why this plan will fail. They conclude:

“.it will take at least five years to create enough
manufacturing capacity to reach that goal. Then it will take
another eight months to create a new vaccine that combats the
specific strain that would be killing people. In other words, it
would be 2011 at the earliest before every American could be
vaccinated against a bird flu pandemic.”

The other, even
likewise serious shortcoming of the plan is that it would protect
vacineproducers and distributors except in cases of “willful
misconduct,” a term to be defined later.

Lawsuits Not An Undue Burden

Bush has called “the growing burden of litigation” one of the
greatest obstacles to vaccine production. But critics have
pointed out that lawsuits against vaccines are relatively rare;
a recent study of the subject found only ten lawsuits related to
flu vaccine over the past 20 years.

Dr. Mercola’s Comment:Many enjoyed my breaking story on the
connection of Donald Rumsfeld and the Bird Flu Hoax last month.
It was one of the most read stories I have ever run. In fact it
was widely passed around the internet and was posted by innumerable
than 100,000 websites. It even prompted CNN to pick up the story.

This is an update tothe continuing bird flu saga. The drug
companiesgot a multi-billion dollar pile of cash, andwith the
new legislation that was recentlypassed, they can’t be sued no
matter what they do, except for “willful misconduct”, whatever
that means.

This effectually allows them to collect a barrel of cash from
this hoax and avoid any responsibility for the inevitable harm
and damage that will result from their solution for this created
villain.

Remember this is allfor a pandemic that will likely never
materialize. I am a former Boy Scout and fully believe in being
prepared, however this is not even close to the recommendations
made byexperts to New Orleans prior to Hurricane Katrina, that
if implemented would have saved 1,000 lives,500,000 homes and
well over $100 billion.

No, this is all about creating fear and panic to benefit the
drug companies. Now, I am still not opposed to being prepared
for this potential bird flu pandemic. It is POSSIBLE it just
might materialize, highly unlikely, but certainly possible.

But ifbird flu did develop as projected, there is no way that
the flu vaccine or Tamiflu will mitigate its damage. No way!

If you want to know how to truly strengthen your immune system
so you will laugh when the flu bug or nearly any other
infectious agent seeks to infect you, then start following the
Total Health Program or read the quick tips I posted last year:

First, start focusing on eating properly. That means
avoiding:

  • Fast foods
  • Sugars
  • Grains
  • Trans-fats

Additionally you can increase the healthy and essential fats
like the omega-3 fats found in fish and cod liver oil: Those of
you who read the newsletter regularly know I’m a fan of the
Carlson’s brand of fish oil and cod liver oil, as I have seen
clear and often substantial improvements in my patients who use
it. Plus, Carlson’s fish and cod liver oil is one of the few
brands that put the extra vitamin E in it for you straight from
the get-go, so you don’t have to take extra vitamin E if you
don’t want to.

You can find Carlson’s fish or cod liver oil at your local
health food store, or, for your convenience, on my Recommended
Products page section.

Also, be sure to increase the good carbohydrates like those
in vegetables, and the healthy proteins like those in clean,
naturally raised meats (i.e., NOT the kind you typically find in
grocery stores). That means learn your metabolic type as soon as
possible so you know what proportion of fats, carbs and proteins
are ideal to build your immune system.

Additionally, if you are to successfully prevent the flu, it
is also important to:

  • Exercise regularly,
  • Get enough sleep,
  • Address stressors,
  • Wash your hands regularly.

Organic Eating Habits – Are They Attainable For Children?

Abstract: akins health food
Tag:

Some adults would say, “Well, of course they are” while others
would retort, “you must not have children!” However it is
possible to give them this healthy advantage but it does take
some effort. Many parents have children that scream at the
mention of vegetables let alone the sight, or smell. A majority
of kids are raised on fast food that is full of unhealthy
ingredients. Of course they are possibly given a cucumber here
and there, but will only eat it when dipped in ranch dressing
that is full of MSG. These unhealthy eating habits are
detrimental to our children’s health. These habits have to
change.

Many parents have been frustrated while trying to encourage a
healthy and organic lifestyle for their children. There is hope
however in getting junior to eat broccoli, request cauliflower,
and get second helpings of stir fry. Here are a few tips for you
parents who are striving to give your kids a healthy future.
First off if you have an infant make sure to introduce him/her
to the wonderful world of solids without offering them bites of
fast food. If they don’t taste it they won’t miss it. I’m always
shocked when I hear a parent say, “I was eating pizza and I gave
my son a bite and he LOVED it.” They say it as if it’s a
wonderful miracle that he liked it. What’s happening is they are
ruining his taste buds. He will become accustomed to the salty,
fatty taste and when you try to offer him healthy foods that
aren’t laden with salt he will refuse. The same goes for sugar.

By the time the child is two these same parents are saying, “My
child just doesn’t like vegetables and there is nothing I can do
about it”. This is not true, however your road will be much
harder. The second tip is to try and find foods that are similar
to the ones they are used too your. Many of their favorite
snacks can be found in your nearest health food store or online,
only a healthier version. Look for snacks that aren’t sugar
laden and do not contain MSG or hydrogenated oils.

Thirdly presentation can be everything. Don’t toss the new
crackers that actually contain whole wheat at them and say, “I
know these aren’t the number one but just try them.” Get excited to
try the items with them. Arrange them on a platter with some
hormone free cheddar cheese and sit down with them to enjoy an
afternoon snack. Which brings me to my fourth tip and that is to
lead by example.

Now for my fifth tip do not change every single item in your
household at once if you are dealing with older children. If you
change every single item at once they are likely to become
bitter towards the idea of eating healthy. Remove your worst
offenders first, such as items containing MSG, hydrogenated
oils, and refined sugars. Use a variety of foods, don’t just
continuously try to shove broccoli down there throats over and
over. Have fun creating meals and enjoy watching your children
grow into healthy young adults.
